Stress Makes You Fat
Staying stress free can help you when trying to lose weight. When you become stressed, your body increases its adrenaline production. Adrenaline causes fat cells all over your body to release their fatty acids into your bloodstream to be used as energy. So while fatty acid is being released in your bloodstream, your adrenal glands are producing another hormone to handle these fatty acids.
The hormone is called cortisol. Cortisol causes belly fat. One of the keys to handling your midsection is managing your stress. More sleep equals less stress, studies have shown those who only sleep 4 hours have higher cortisol levels than those who get 8 hours of sleep. If you are going through a stressful time in your life, load up on vitamin C. Vitamin C has been shown to help manage stress through research.
